Mercy Corps

Nestled between the ocean and an active volcano, the remote region of Lombok; small towns surrounding the volcano are populated by indigenous Sasak people, many of whom are cashew nut farmers and hiking guides. In 2018, the area was hit by a series of earthquakes that destroyed roads and flooded farms with seawater. This series of photographs shine a light on the resilience of the people amidst rebuilding their homes.
