You’re looking at a body of a Magnolia tree from the Onder de Bogen klooster in Maastricht. Twenty-meters of magnolia petals gathered in spring 2024 and 2025 were soaked in an emulsion that helps release the polyphenol and terpenoid, chemicals from plants, to develop photographic emulsion. The resulting image captures the petals and the photosensitive emulsion in motion, exposed to natural light.
